Mad Hatter Gone Mad!! on Cake Central

i bought the Collette peters book about 6 months ago , and have been flipping through it ever since. Decided it was time to try one, Pretty happy with it even though it's not exactly the same, I'll just have to keep practicing. thaks to all CC'ers who have answered even the dumbest of questions from your truely!!! Love the cake! I have that book too and you're interpretation of the cake is awesome! and I love the mosiac backsplash too!

I don't have the book but am always in awe when someone does a cake like this. Yours is awesome. Is there one dowel rod going through all the cakes to hold them up like that?

hi canoewoman, yes there is one dowel going though all the cakes, and believe it or not it's actually a chinese chopstick!! It's only a small cake for about 12/15 people. I used sups and mugs and a salad bowl for the pot. I don't have all the bits yet, but it was only a trial cake.Made out of carrot cake, so nice and firm with frosting , it did not squash or sag, did not put any supprts or separator plates except for the saucer- made of modelling paste. assembled on site just stack!!
