This cake was an additional cake made for a wedding for a couple Muay Thai aficionados. The writing on one side says their names, and the other side says their wedding date. Covered in MMF, all detailing with royal icing and painted with gold lustre dust with jelly icing for "jewels".
wow this is beautiful!
beautiful work!
I can't believe I forgot to put the gold ribbon along the edge of the board... I also made 2 figurines of the couple as fighters, but they wouldn't stand on the cake (hence the holes on the top)
Beautiful work. Love the jewel tone color combination.
The detail is amazing - how did you do the gold work?
Wow that Thai style gold piece is amazing - how did you do that?
The triangle in the middle is yellow MMF. For the edges I drew out the shapes, laid parchment paper over, and piped in yellow royal icing. A couple days later I piped the detailing on the royal icing pieces with more yellow royal icing. A couple more days later I attached the pieces to the cake and did the details on the triangles. And the next day I painted the whole thing with gold lustre dust. Pretty intricate, but it was very cooperative.
pretty spectacular.
Gorgeous
This is one of the best decorations I have seen. Well done!
This is some of the best "gold" detail ever, looks realistic. very very beautiful - great job!
Exotic and elegant, really lovely
very lovely
