Bailinho Da Madeira - Madeira Island Folklore

*Welcome to Music Around the World - Cake Notes - Cake Collaboration* A few months ago, I was invited by Elisabete Caseiro to make part of this "cake colaboration". It was with gratitude and entusiasm that I've decided to embrace this challenge, along with about 41 national and international sugar artists (24 countries), creating a sweet allusive music project. How passionate I am for my island, I did not hesitate to represent the folklore of Madeira Island. This was my creation/contribution. I hope you enjoy and share this set of pieces with musical art with your friends.

About my creation: The choice of the music genre of my cake is based on my roots. I was for a long time thinking of doing a cake that was, in some way, allusive to the beauty of my homeland and interestingly comes this opportunity. I did not hesitate and chose to represent the Bailinho da Madeira, a Madeira Island folklore well known through all world. At the top, bailinho is represented by de cap each dancer uses in their head, as well as the typical Madeira boot. The top tier represents the colors and the beautiful traditional dress skirt pattern, accompanied by yellow cord that closes the vest of the women's clothing. The main image was inspired and adapted from an original illustration of Madeiran João Egidio, fully hand-painted, as this is one of the techniques that I love the most. Surrounding this part of the cake, there are dozens of flowers that symbolically represent the beautiful flowers of Madeira, here are subtle and white in order to harmonize the whole cake. The base of the cake was covered by hundreds of pieces of fondant representing the beauty of the typical Madeiran sidewalk, where many times the folklore groups dance in the streets of Funchal.
