Hydrangea Wedding Cake

Hydrangea Wedding Cake on Cake Central

This is my first "paid" wedding cake! The fondant gave me a headache and actually looks better in the picture but I'm probably my own worst critic! The bride supplied the fowers (or should I say flower). I had to clip small parts of it to place on the cake. Thanks for looking!

My tip, don't do fondant on an iced cake that was refrigerated. I discoverd fondant works best when its warm and the cold cake and icing made it difficult.

Thank you everyone for the wonderful compliments. The flowers were fresh. I did not stay for the wedding so I don't know how well they held up. I'm going to call the bride today and see how it went.

Be careful with hydranges, they are actually poisonous (as is ivy) but the cake looks incredible!!!!!!!!!1 I find that it's easier for me to have the cake rock cold hard before putting the fondant on so it's a personal preference. Have fun with it, torture your family with fondant cakes for every occasion. It will give you practice!
