I love hydrangeas.....nice job. I think I'd taper the amount of flowers as I cascaded it down the cake. In other words....less at the bottom. Just my twist to the idea! Good luck.

Thanks for the advice. I was playing around with the flowers but since these are the actual flowers for the wedding I will definitely try it your way. The actual cake will be much larger.

These flowers are beautiful!!! I agree about less at the bottom. Your dots are very even!!! I can't tell by the picture but if you ever have any problems with "chocolate chip tips" on dots, you can always let the icing crust a bit and then lightly press them down with your finger. You can either wet your finger with warm water or use powdered sugar. Beautiful cake base too!!!! The bride will be thrilled!!!!

Just Beautiful! I also agree - less on the flowers at the base. However- I LOVE the use of hydrangeas for a wedding cake- very different, also gives a "softer" almost floating effect. Also- if you have access to pearl dusting powder, that always gives wedding cakes a bit more shimmer. Your bride will love it ;-D

Thanks for the advice everyone. The bride was here today and really likes how everything looks. The real cake will be 14,12,10 and 8 with 5 matching minis.
