The inspiration for this cake came from the Toby Keith song, "Red Solo Cup." This was made from a 15x11" cake and was frosted with crusting buttercream and smoothed. The writing was painted on with black coloring gel (Wilton, no vodka to thin). The "spilled beer" was made from 1/2 cup confectioners sugar and 1/4 Tbsp water, dyed accordingly and microwaved until bubbly to make it a little clearer. I used an outline of frosting to contain it and spooned it in while still warm. Once cooled, I brushed it with corn syrup to make it glossy. Just before serving, I put whipped cream (from the can) around the "beer" to create a foamy look but you could also use white buttercream.
