This is a picture of a cake I made for my niece's baby shower. It was my first time making a fondant figure.

this cake could not be more smooth or perfect...just gorgeous work!!
wow, are you a professional baker??? I'm still learningand am having a hard time getting mine smooth like that, great job!!!!
ooooooooooh how sweet
OH MY!!! This is sheer perfection!!! The figure next to the baby, can't see it from this angle, is it a teddy bear??? sooo gourgeous!!!
Stunning! Your border is just perfect as is the icing!! I wish I could get mine that smooth.
Thank you all very much!! I'm not a professional, far from it. I've only been decorating for about six months. I just do it in my spare time. It is hard to tell from the angle of the photo, but yes that is a teddy bear.Thank you all again!!
The baby looks wonderful, what am I saying the whole CAKE looks FANTASTIC!
how do you get your icing so smooth? what kind do you use? looks awesome!!
This is a beautiful cake. Wonderful Job!
simply gorgeous...I love eveything about this cake!
I think you did a great job. I'm not too sure what is the pink on top of her head, a bow maybe? You should do a thread in the forum so that it will get bumped, sometimes people post so many pics that no too many will see it :) What a great idea, I think I might have to borrow it!!!!
Adorable! I love it like it is!
Thank you. Yes, that's a bow, I think I may have to stand it up a little more.
Lovely. I really like the colour too.
Beautiful....very pretty..good colour and shape
I think it's adorable...one suggestion would be to make the blanket a little more decorative...you can use those scissors that make the curved edges or maybe put tiny hearts or polka dots
lovely cake design, everything is so smooth, i would never have guessed youve only been at it 6mts
Beautiful cake... How did you perfect the handwriting? I'm still struggling with that...
Thank you!. I used fondant for the figures and the Wilton buttercream recipe for my icing. I smooth it using Viva paper towels.
Your border is PERFECT!! Love the entire cake!
I love it! there is something about it that is very serene. It is probably one of the better ones I have seen.
I agree (...) work.
Perfect rope border (i cannot get that one right) very pretty
