This is made out of butter cake and covered with fondant. Each and every dimple was pressed by me. Spalding sign is made from fondant. If you did not want so much cake, you could also have a half circle Styrofoam on the bottom half and cake on the top half. If you do this then you should add a thin round board in between layers. Keeps it a little stronger.
