My Wedding Cake

My Wedding Cake on Cake Central

My wedding cake from March 4th 2000 - this is what started me cake decorating. I ordered this cake for my wedding day (no I didn't make it) and thought I'd like to try that!. (Yes I am able to show it here with permission)

It was 4 cakes, stacked one on top of the other. Fruit on bottom was smallest, largest on top with dowel down through. Also chocolate mud, orange & almond and Gin & Lemon. Must have been about 20 inches high for the 4 cakes, then roses on top of that. It was called a vase cake..

Yes they were gumpaste, yes I kep them. They were actually modelled directly onto a tooth pick (think you call them cockatil sticks in the USA) and inserted directly into top of cake, organza ribbon was around in between gaps in flowers. I gave a couple away to some small children, who promptly tried to eat them, despite being told they tasted terrible. I actually remember doing he same thing as a child.
