Jens Shower Practice
I made this cake as a practice cake. I'm the MOH in my best friends wedding, so there was no question on making the cake vs. buying!!! It's my first time using the ribbon on the cake, and it was so easy, and makes it look SOOO elegant. For the shower, i'm using the Wilton Party Stand w/the 3 offset tiers. I just made this 8in cake. I didn't figure I needed to practice all 3 since they'll be the same!!! I'm still trying to figure out an elegant topper for the top tier. I tried icing sugar cookies on a stick....but when I put them in...cute as they were, it just took away from the "elegant" look of the cake. Any tips? Ideas? I like the look of the ones that have the silver wire and such...maybe I could hang some snowflakes off of some curly silver wire...but I have no idea what kind of wire I need or how to do it....The shower is the 29th of this month, so any input would be GREATLY appreciated!
You sound like me - doing practice cakes before important events! Its fantastic and I really like you accents. Agree it would be nice to add some on wires (maybe just a few sticking out only in the center of the cake (?). She's gonna love it!
Oh - forgot to add - you would use florist wire. Probably a heavy guage because those decorations may be kinda heavy. If you can't find the color of florist wire you like, you can always wrap in a florist tape.
