Thanks for your kind comments, the colour I used was Violet made by Corella an Australian brand, I just started out light then added more colour as I went along.Very easy cake to make. :D

Cake is beautiful. My daughter says, I want to eat that. I say, someday, I hope I can make one just as nice.

Could you please tell me what gauge of wire you use to hold up the hearts on top? It is a beautiful cake.

I used gauge no 22.I am from Australia so Im not sure if it would be the same as over there, but it was fairly thin. I just used modelling fondant to make the hearts and when dried I just coloured them , I also used a luster on them though you cant really see it in the photo. I used butchers pegs in between teirs. The bottom required quite a few as the other 3 teirs were quiet heavy. I think I put about 6 and the others had 3 and 4. :D

Butchers pegs are like little wooden stakes that you push into your cake 6 for the bottom so that the board rests on the pegs and not the cakes. You cut them a little taller than the cake not much taller otherwise you will see them.So it looks like the cakes are sitting on top of each other.
