Graduation Cake
This is my first graduation cake since I am new to decorating. IT was for a friends daughter that graduated from college in the college's colors. I had planned on fondant initials and 2007 - but those did not work at all so at the last minute I printed out the banner - it was too big, but I'll do better the next time. All comments and suggestions are appreciated!! Thanks so much!!
You did a great job!! I love the colors. How do you get your red so red and your black so black?
The black started with chocolate buttercream and had been made for several days. I cheated on the red and used the wilton red you buy on the cake aisle in the store in the tube!! I had just received my Americolor red the day before this cake was due and I was afraid that was not enough time for it to darken to the right color. Thanks for looking and the compliments!
