Castle

Castle on Cake Central

This was my first castle cake and I was very happy at how it turned out. The main building is 8X8X5 in Vanilla Butter cake with Bevarian chocolat cream filling. It was for a 12yr old boy's birthday. The father had ordered the figures online and asked me to work them into the design. You can't tell in the pic but there are little guys in the towers that you can see through the doorways and in the main door behind the gate.

I love this cake!!! My boyfriend is very into dungeons and dragons and he would love this cake if I could ever make something so great (and huge)! Good job!

Thank you all for your nice comments. Yes, Karenelli, the grass is cake but not really for serving, it is made using leftover scraps from a carved cake I was working on.

Thank you, I covered the cake with dark grey fondant and let it air dry overnight to get it a little hard and then rolled balls of light gray and smuched them on. Then hilighted with black pedal dust.

It looks great--very authentic appearance. How did you do the great-looking stonework?
