As a Texas Gal I LOVE this!!! I would like to have any info you can give me on this. I have a cake to make in May that this would be perfect for. What pan did you use for the cake?
the cake is 4 8" rounds with one side cut flat so they can stand on their side. To get the leather look I balled up some aluminum foil and pressed lightly to get the scarring. I then painted the fondant with a little brown coloring mixed w/ a teeny bit of vodka and blotted it off with a clean paper towel.
Ooh! I love the leather! Please will you PM the instructions to me too - especially how you cut/shaped the saddle. Thank you! I have a horsey cake to make for Saturday - yours is just perfect!

vodka? who woulda dreamt it? but it looks fantastic!
Just curious...why Vodka?? I love it too. Looks so real. Awesome job!
Vodka is used for this type of thing because it evaporates & dries quickly
Your leather looks so REAL!! <<--- impressed :-)
