Mallard Duck
This cake was a surprise from the bride to the groom on their wedding day. He was a huge duck hunter! My first 3D cake believe it or not! I used buttercream for the entire cake. The head was carved from styrofoam, and so was the tail, and then iced to match the rest of the cake. I used all sorts of tips, but mainly a large round tip with upward strokes for the feathers. I used a brush dipped in hot water (dabbed in a cloth) to smooth the head. Yes I did use Red velvet for the cake!
Awesome job !
