I brought this cake to my husband's office holiday party last weekend and people are still asking him about it today. :) The cake design is from anxeli. However for the lights, I found it much easier just to use a regular light string (from Michaels), since I could zig zag it across the front of the cake instead of drilling through the cake with the straw tunnels. The battery pack is duct-taped under the cake stand, because I'm MacGyver like that. I used one of those new Duff impression mats (also Michaels) for the wood panels, spring roll wrappers for the windows (already in my pantry, score), and sprinkled on some cake sparkles leftover from one of those wilton classes.
