Pink Wedding

I had to drive for 2 1/2 hours through mountain roads to the resort where this wedding cake needed to go. I've never been so nervous in my life. I'm glad I insisted on fondant when I booked it; I transported it in boxes and stacked it there. That's fabric ribbon and fresh flowers. It's a lemon cake with raspberry filling. I'm so relieved to be done with this one! BTW, I piped in a thin line of royal icing at the base of each tier and smoothed it in with a paint brush and a little water to get the nicely joined tiers. She wanted a very smooth line, and it was a challenge to get all of that very cleanly done.
