Mad Hatter Cake With Daisies And Retro Topper

Mad Hatter Cake With Daisies And Retro Topper on Cake Central

First of all, thank you to BKeith for your article. I had done this cake before, but you gave me the confidence to try again...my angles were sharper and I think it was overall better this time!

I was in love with the retro 1942 topper they gave me for this cake...from their aunt's wedding. SO special!

The cake's flavours were Lime Spongecake with Toasted Coconut Buttercream and the bottom tier was Dark Chocolate with Chocolate Buttercream.

The best instructions I've seen have just been posted as an article by BKeith on this website..."How to Build A Whimsical Cake" or something like that.

How cute is that????? I can't wait to try that, I've been freezing cakes made from extra batter for my experiment. I think yours is just gorgeous!!! Love the little topper!

It's Martha Stewart's Meringue Buttercream with 1/4 cup of unsweetened coconut (toasted in oven for 5 minutes) and 2 tsp. coconut extract. SO yummy!!
