Given that I have the lizard/crocodile mat, I don't know how to achieve this black-gold color effect

any ideas please?

I'd dust the mat with gold lustre dust first, then roll the fondant over it.  It should pick up the dust.  Otherwise just brush the dry lustre dust over the imprinted fondant?
