Hi everyone! One of my best friends has been working with immigrations for over a year to get her husband into our country. We will be having a huge welcome home / happy wedding / happy life / we're happy for you both party when he arrives. I'm looking for some inspiration cakes that might encompass this. Nothing huge (50 people). Anything I could use as inspiration would be great. Can you help me???

I did one with the flag pattern inside the cake. Fun surprise when it is cut!

Which country?

i've made two different Aussie cakes, but they're not much help if you're in The States.

Yes, figure out where are they from and make some culturally relevant cake.

The countries are canada and jamaica. I'm considering a 2 tier with each tier having a watercolor feel with the countries flag colours. Then maybe adding a few flowers...palm trees... Etc. I was also considering piping the country outline with a dotted line to each other...

what about two mini 2-tier cakes like two 7x5s round and maybe stack them offset so both 7" tiers touch and both 5" tiers touch then put your pretty design on there -- a little 5" centered on top of that would be cool --

wonderful celebration though! nice for you to be a part of it -- best to you and all
