As a general rule, yes. I've seen cakes torn in multiple pieces that were pressed back together and had no visible issues with the final product. But it depends upon your details.

yes pressed together or glued with icing back together

Thanks, I was able to fill it and it looks fine. This is the first time I made a cake in a 10 inch pan and I didn't let it cool enough!
