Hi. I'll like to attempt a carousel cake, has anyone had sucess in making one from scratch or even using the Wilton kit? I'm trying to source some border molds too. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated

I make border molds, you can go to my website. There are plenty out there, though, do a google images search for "cake border mold" and a bunch will come up.

As far as the carousel cake, if you're using the Wilton kit it should be pretty easy. Don't you just have to do a  round tier and then put the pieces of the carousel on it? It should come with instructions, but I think that part of it will be straightforward.

My wife wants a carousel cake for our son's first birthday (a year away, yes she's a planner). I bought the carousel horse molds. PAF makes a nice one (http://www.bakedeco.com/detail.asp?id=33145&categoryid=0) .  I buy most of my border molds from Marvelous Molds as they have a pretty nice selection.
