It's my first time decorating cupcakes for my girls birthday party. The sprinkles will not stick despite frosting and sprinkling right away.

I heard you could mist it with water but when I sprinkled some with my hand the rainbow nonpareils bled!

Party is tomorrow help!!

i'm probably a little late here but if you make a simple glaze --  water + powdered sugar -- not too thin and lightly cover the top then press into the sprinkles you should be ok -- or even a little brush of corn syrup -- then mash into the sprinkles -- but you wanna test this first to be sure there's no bleeding --

and maybe your original icing is too firm or something?

oh a sure fire way is to melt some white chocolate and wave it back & forth over the top or pipe/cover the top then press into sprinkles -- no bleeding -- no worries --

hope all is going well -- how you doing?

Thank you for those great suggestions.

I learned I had to sprinkle them immediately and yes I think my first time making frosting it was too thick. However things turned out great afterall I frosted the morning of the party and sprinkled right away.[postimage id="3337" thumb="900"]
