I will be making a car cake and I need to put 2 candles. I don't want to put them on the cake as i don't want the car to be sort of carrying these 2 large candles on the roof. Any ideas what else i can to to put the candles on? I was thinking maybe i would cover the cake drum to look like a road and put the candles on the side? any idea?

thanks

make and affix some kind of blob of buttercream or fondant to the board and stick the candle in there -- like two tires would be cool  or even in a flower on the side of the road -- you can even just use a blob of buttercream

How about making the candles look like they are street lights.
