The cake will be covered with buttercream not fondant.
My initial thought is to make a football cake and butt it up against a stacked round. Then place dowels horizontally between the two cakes to stabilize.
My other thought was to make a stacked round and carve out the mouth.
I would appreciate any thoughts or advice.
