I made MMF (recipe below) for the first time and I let it sit over night. I tried to put it into a silicone mold tonight and it wouldn't release. It was sticking to my xacto knife a bit and the mold. I dusted the mold with a powdered sugar/cornstarch mix. I knead the MMF a few times and it seem like the right fondant consistency so im not sure why it's sticking. Should I let it sit longer? Microwave it to dry it out?

Recipe:

16 oz mini generic brand marshmallow

2 table spoons water

2 lbs 10x shifted powered sugar

Crisco sshortening to grease

Combine marshmallow and water

Microwave for 30 second intervals till fully melted...stirring between each interval

Once melted, add powered sugar and fold

Wrap,  let it sit overnight

Please help!!

I use a recipe (I believe from Macmom) that has glycerin in it. You can find it on Cake Central.

The best way to release fondant from a silicone mould quickly, is to freeze the mold once the fondant is in for 3 to 10 minutes. It's magic!
