I know someone out here on this wonderful forum has the answers for me...

I just purchased an 8 lb can of Almond Marzipan from American Almond Products.

First, has anyone had experience using this to cover a cake? Do I need to add anything to it for it to be rolled out to cover a cake?

I don't want to open the can before I have some answers.

Also, if anyone has bought this, what else did you do with it? I would be interested to know.

My main reason for buying this is to learn to cover and decorate cakes in the British tradition a la Eddie Spence. His book is amazing, and I would love to learn all the icing techniques. I have already bought some classes on Craftsy.com to practice.

I do love fruitcake!

Thank you all for your input!

I've never covered a cake with it but you can sculpt with it to make cake toppers - fruit is traditional or you can make candy, dunk in chocolate!
