So I have a customer that wants me to do a wedding cake. 2 tier and 200 cupcakes. all I have been able to get from her is that she wants it rustic but elegant and simple not busy. she has decided on white roses, mums, foliage, and burlap. this is the only pic she will send me. what would you do? she said shes easy to please. not very reassuring to myself! anyways...heres the pic she sent me...

ASimple not busy? Well, I had some other picture in my head before I saw the picture she send you...:D I'm not doing wedding cakes, but here's what I would do: Ask her if she wants an exact copy of the cake in the picture or....show her some alternatives. Make sure it's all written down in detail in the contract, otherwise you might get problems with her later and also get a down payment and payment at delivery. A bride that is "easy about her wedding cake" is a bit suspicious to me. But who knows...

AI agree with Julia. You need to get her to sign off on a design. She may very well be an easy bride who doesn't care about the specifics or she could be someone who doesn't know exactly what she wants but only what she doesn't like when she sees it which could be a nightmare for you. If you're good at sketching draw up something with foliage and burlap ribbon or send her some images from Pinterest. That rustic look is very in you'll find lots of inspiration. Good luck!

AWell, up to you... But the fact that she sent you this picture with loooots of flowers tells me you should definitely incorporate them! As kazita wrote, google or go on Pinterest (my favorite page!) and see what you find. Then send her some options to choose from, or draw your own designs and show her.
