I have  a 3 tier wedding cake to make and the bride wants fresh strawberries to be placed on top of the fondant/icing, scattered around the cake.

I have completed some practice cakes and am having disasters! The strawberries are causing the fondant to melt. I have put strawberries onto fondant that wasn't set and also fondant that has been set over night. The fondant that has hardened looks to be ok at the minute however the strawberries have only been placed on there for a few hours.

Does anybody have any tips on how to apply the strawberries to the fondant, without the fondant melting??

Any tips will be welcomed!! :)

I think you need to dip the strawberrries in white chocolate and glue on with chocolate...strawberries are just so juicy they leave red spots all over.
