When making pine trees with ice cream cone do you use royal icing or buttercream for leaves? how do you get the cone to stay on the cake?
Thanks

You use royal icing and let it dry. To get different sizes, you break the cone to different heights.

I usually just "dig" the cone into the cake, but you could also put some icing on the cake that is also green and place the cone on top of that.

Good Luck!

I made pine trees not too long ago and used buttercream. I put them on pretzel rods to make them different heights. The photo is posted in the gallery. Although I ended up making them all the same height on the cake, it just looked better.
