Hi I don't know if it's me uploading the photo has worked but hope so I am wanting to make a cake like this but need some advice on how to do the mass, sails and flags and to support them any advice and tips will be great thanks

Hi Nikki. I'm not offering any advice because I haven't enough experience but I thought maybe you could pm the lady/man who made the cake and ask her/his advice? That's what I do sometimes & people have been so generous with their advice and suggestions :) HTH

 

I'm going to keep an eye on this thread because I'm trying to learn all I can about the sort of thing you are asking about for future reference.

It's a very nice advanced Walt Disney Peter Pan cake.

Probably a combination of dowels, and skewers. Just look closer, and you'll probably figure it out. You need to make the masts and sails ahead of time so they can dry, and it's just a matter of attaching them to long thin supports, inserted in to the cake. Maybe inserted first, and thru to the board or more stability, then the sails and what not attached afterwards.
