Can anyone tell me what kind of tip and technique was used for this cake. I have a lady that wants this but i just can not figure out how to get that swirl and I dont think im using the right tip. thanks!!

AIt looks to me like an open star tip doing a shell and then reverse shell over and over again with a simple layer of stars in between. Pretty cake!

ditto. That's exactly what it looks like to me. You can use 18 or 24, depending on how large the cake. The larger the star tip, the larger the piped design.
