How do I determine how much edible glitter I need for a cake.  We have never done a cake totally covered before and I have no idea how much we need.  Can anyone offer any advice?

Was planning to use the coarse sugar and mix it with the mother of pearl or white glitter.

You can take a container of coarse sugar and dump enough out to cover a 4x4 piece of paper, and estimate how much of the jar it took. Then, how many 4x4 sheets to cover your cake. Say it takes half a jar, and it takes 30 sheets of paper to cover the cake, then you need 15 jars.

Thanks so much for the idea!  It is not a cake we are looking forward to but a family friend has her heart set on it. I am sure you know that situation!

Thanks again.
