AI am making gumpaste animal figures, and no matter how much I roll/warm the paste in my hand I can't get rid of the cracks and or lines in the gumpaste. I even warmed the gumpaste in the micro for a few seconds. Any suggestions?

AHave you tried mixing fondant with the gumpaste 50/50? I've heard this decreases the chance of cracking, and will also give you more time to work with the figures so they don't dry out to quickly

AYou might also knead a bit of shortening into it. I make figures often and use a 50/50 mix.

As you're rolling add pressure.

roll the fondant out and cut it with a circle shaped cookie cutter and then roll it into your shape.  For some reason that works for me!
