AI made a red velvet cake from a recipe on divascancook and it turned more like brownies than a cake! What could have caused that? It's still got a good taste. I'm debating on whether I should call it red velvet cake or red velvet brownies though. Haha
hi,
Your red velvet cake turns into brownies, serious problem. I think it has to be baked till 5 minutes, you may be baked it longer. That's why it turns into brownies. It taste good, brownies are really delicious. It is better to call it red velvet brownies.
AYou'll usually get a brownie texture if your weight ratio of sugar is higher than your weight ratio of flour. I googled the divascancook recipe, and the one I found does indeed have a higher ratio of sugar to flour. Although there are 2 cups of each, 2 cups of flour and 2 cups of sugar are not equal in terms of weight. 2 cups of sugar weigh approximately 400g. 2 cups of flour weigh approximately 255g.
