I am doing about a 3' cake stack and wanted to know about the pipe fittings in a plywood base.

I am assuming that the pipe is covered in tape or wrapped somehow and just wondered what others use to support this height of stacks.

thanks for the help in advance.

Need a little more info.

PVC is food safe it transports drinking water. Just wash with soapy water before use.

There is a plumber pipe that is not food safe that the PVC slides onto.

Unless your traveling with it already fully stacked, I don't think you need a center support at all. I've done 3' cakes many times with-out any additional support. Just used regular wilton pillars cut to height.

Thanks everyone. I already had decided to use PVC instead of metal so I wouldn't have to wrap it. Sent the DH out yesterday for the supplies. Yes I am transporting it stacked. 20 1 and 2 inch cakes.

thanks again.
