I will be making a small ruffle cake with SMB.  I wanted to add a plaque shaped fondant decoration with a name on it to the front of the ruffle cake. Is that possible? will the SMB melt or will the fondant ruin the ruffles? How do I add the fondant to the SMB? Does the SMB harden if placed in the fridge? Thanks!

an icing with butter in it will firm up some in the fridge, SMB will not get hard or crusted like AMB.

ASMBC does what butter does in the fridge; gets very firm. Nope, doesn't crust over which is one of the many awesome things about it. It will come back to fluffy softness after a couple hours at room temp. When I attach light fondant accents, I just gently push them on to the surface once it's been chilled a bit, so it can withstand a bit of pressure. it will stay put as long as it's not too heavy.
