AHey guys, A guy that I work with has just asked me to make a cake for his sons first birthday. Should I just charge for materials as Iv only been doing this for around 7 months. He wants a train cake with 3 carriages and a few circus animals in the back.

That depends, are you licensed to sell cakes? If you are I would at least charge for ingredients and labor- if you aren't you should give it as a gift no charge.
