Splitting The Fondant Like This Cake...

The way I see it, there are two ways you could do this:
Method one - Cover the whole cake in the bottom colour fondant and smooth etc as you would normally. Then roll out another layer of fondant, gently dampen the lower fondant where you want the top layer to cover, and place the second colour on top. Carefully cut the top fondant to the shape you desire and moisten the edge to keep it firmly in place. Smooth out the top and cover the seam with flowers to hide it.
Method two - Cover the cake in top colour, but cut away the shape you want to be the second colour. Roll out a strip of the second colour and place in the gap, cutting the edge to fit. Again, smooth the seam and cover with flowers.
It's up to you which method you choose, but I would probably go with the latter, as although it is a bit more difficult, it requires less fondant so costs less to make!
Hope you have fun doing this cake.
Ok, think I'll try the second one. I'm most concerned about getting it smooth using that method...but we will see!! Thanks for your tips!!

AIt was easy but if had it to do over again, I'd use a lot less fondant! I'd probably use a zebra sugar sheet rather than fondant then do the pink part in fondant.
