I'm making a cake for my uncles party next week and decided to go with a motorcycle in clouds theme with angel wings. One of the ladies at my work suggested that I ombre the top of the cake with blue and place the clouds and motor cycle in the center and dust the clouds with hints of blue. I don't own an air brush and the blue canned spray seems to be to dark to resemble the sky. Is it possible to dust and fade the blue using petal dust? My second question should I dust only the creases of the clouds in blue? I plan on making the clouds out of meringue. Thank you.

You might be able to do it if you put it in the fridge and get it good an crusted and hard,.  I don't have an airbrush either and somebody here on CC told me about a fine mist pump spray.  I use a container that had that spray candy in it.  I saved it from my daughters candy.   I mixed a bit of color and vodka to dry fast.   It actually worked pretty good.  Practice spray if you can on some paper.  Hope this helps you. :)
