AHi all Just I am wondering when I put some drops of food colour my fondant gets stick and can't work with it ?

If you use gel food coloring, you won't have as much of a problem.

Whenever I add coloring to fondant, I have some shortening and powdered sugar on hand. If it starts getting too sticky, knead in a little shortening. If the shortening has made the fondant too soft, add a little powdered sugar.

I always use paste food colouring for sugarpaste (fondant)....I usually use the brand 'sugarflair' in the UK, and add it using a cocktail stick.

Same problem I have. I used wilton gel colors and it made mine super sticky to the point I could barely work with it. I used crisco to keep it from sticking to my hands but then it just got soft. So maybe like the others say, kneading PS in will help .. I'm going to try that as well and see what happens.

ASugarflair ?is it powder colour ?

If you google it you can see the type of pots it comes in, about 2" tall...depending on the shop they cost approx. £2.50 - £4.  It isn't powder, more of a thick paste and I add it with a cocktail stick and then knead it in...makes my hands look wonderful!...I tried a 'squires' brand which I found very liquid like and made my fondant sticky.
