Hi,

I have an unopened bottle of Nomu vanilla bean paste that expired in Oct 2012 - should I toss it or would it still be ok to use?

Thanks!

I would probably toss it - it starts to dry up after awhile.

AI'd be opening it up and giving it a good sniff, if it smells good, use it. Expiry dates are usually a required recommendation for when the product may start to lose its full appearance and flavour. I doubt seriously your VBP will be off! If you're still concerned, use it in your home baking only, and only in stuff that will be baked or cooked.

There are some things I am passionate about with regard to food safety. Aged VBP is not one of them :-)
