I am making a tree stump wedding cake.  Have done before and not concerned.  However, sitting on the stump is going to be a cake dummy traditional looking wedding cake.

If I cover the cake dummy with fondant can I stick buttercream flowers onto it?  Will this soften the fondant?  Should I BC ice the cake dummies instead of fondant?

Thanks!

You can put buttercream flowers on a fondant cake, best to let them crust first - however if you're buttercream crusts fairly quickly then they'd even be fine to put straight on.
