I was thinking about hosting a kids cake decorating camp in my home this summer.  Have some of you done this?  Could you share your experience?

my idea for you is to use royal icing--the clean up is so much easier than buttercream

there's so many fantastic projects

good luck

AI would have to chime in and say that there is no way I would allow my kids to go to the private home of someone for camp. I do tend to be over protective, but I think it is better than to have no thought at all to their welfare. I don't let them go to the ice cream truck, either.

If you had a little shop, that could be fun, but I would keep it to very small groups.

I've done large group cake decorating with Scouts, and taught sewing classes to groups of 8-12 year olds, but not at my house.  Do you have access to a church kitchen or similar that you could use? I'm not sure I would want the mess at my home kitchen!!  There's more chance of distraction in a home environment.
