I am wanting to do a topsy turvy cake for my daughter's birthday. What type of cake should I use to make? Sponge, pound, cake mix, something else??

An extended mix cake, like the WASC recipe here on CC, or a pound cake is perfect for a topsy turvy. Both will carve nicely and hold their shape well.
