Hi all, I have been a memeber her for a while now and read with interest - thanks
I have a question now though - I have to make fruit cake cupcakes for my Nanas 90th birthday as she wants to give them to her frinds as keepsakes. I was hoping to cover them in fondant and decorate with flowers but my question is that usually when I fondant dome a cupcake I use buttercream under the dome but obviously cant due to the fact that some of her friend will want to keep them rather than eat them - any suggestions???

Brush them with a little Jam and then use marzipan to cover them before you put on the fondant. I smooth the marzipan with a piece of acetate and then I brush with a little sugar syrup and apply the fondant.

It is better if you leave the marzipan to dry for a day in between if you can.
