Hey all....I haven't been on here for a while. But I have a question for my first paid wedding cake. The customer wants a hexagon 4 tier stacked cake. My question...for each 12", 10", 8" and 6", do I bake a single layer and torte, or do I bake 2 of each size? Thanks !

Are you sure you're ready to make a wedding cake? A tier is usually two 2" tall layersjust like the layer cake in your gallery.

Almost all of my cakes, both tiered wedding and regular layer cakes are the same. Each tier is composed of 2 layers and each layer is torted. That way each tier has 4 layers of cake and 3 layers of filling. Most tiers end up being at least 4 inches high. when they are complete.
Hope this helps.
