How would go I about making my flour frosting recipe chocolate? How much do I add, at what time do I add and do I use powder or melted chocolate? Sorry about ASAP but just received the order last night wanting it tomorrow!
Thanks,
Molly

Since I am unsure of your recipe and if it is like mine or not, I will still tell you what I do...

I add Cocoa Powder and either just a smidge of espresso (or in a pinch instant espresso powder) to my flour/milk mixture on the stove as well as melt a little semi-sweet chocolate and add that to my final frosting during the last few minutes of beating...

I think it creates a bit of depth to my flavor, but that is just me...

Here is the chocolate recipe I use. I use a total of 1/3 cup of cocoa powder. When adding the melted chocolate, I turn off the mixer, spoon the melted chocolate into the bottom of the bowl, and gently mix it in, so it doesn't get hard right away and leave bits of chocolate floating in the frosting, although that is certainly tasty, but not too sightly.
