Hi everyone,
Would like some feedback on which tiered cake pan set height are your favorite. I plan to get both square and round. I also plan to get an Agbay leveled to torte. Do you have more than one set so that you can bake 2 of the same size layers?
I would get at least 2 of each size, maybe more of the sizes you use the most. As for the height, I have 2 inch high pans but I was given most of my pans so if I was buying them I'm not sure which height I'd go with.
I have many multiples of all sizes. 2" depth. I found that the 3" depth pans just didn't bake well for me.
I agree with Leah on both points. I have 3" pans and I regret not getting 2" ones because the 3" take forever to bake.
I also agree about the Magic Line pans. I still have Wilton pans from my newbie days, and whenever I bake using one Wilton and one Magic Line, the difference is remarkable. Totally worth the $$.
I have both 3in & 2 in pans although not the magic line. That is my next purchase. I don't like the 3 in pans. They take too long to bake. I much prefer the 2 in and I'm sorry I ever purchase the 3 in.
I prefer 3" pans personally at least for tiers up to 10" after that I have to adjust bake time and temp so that they bake well. I never tried Magic Line definitely going to have to look into that.
Forgot to add definitely buy multiples. I am a list person so I make a list of how many cakes to bake for each tier to get the height I want and I just mark them off as they cool. I can bake 2 smaller tiers at a time in my oven. Definitely saves time on bigger cakes or multiple cake orders.
