Hi,
One of my client wants something like this
http://notsohumblepie.blogspot.com/2011/08/midnight-sin-chocolate-cake.html

she wants a super moist chocolate cake with mousse filling and chocolate on top. but she wants two characters something like this. the characters will be made of fondant

http://www.flickr.com/photos/cakesbyoccasion/6017367009/in/faves-nadiatariqbaig/

as it is an anniversary cake with some decorations, but she doesnt want any fondant in the cake itself only decoration is fine.
Now my question is how to put these figures on top of the cake so it doesnt get spoiled by the chocolate ganache, squishes out the mousse inside and overall doesnt smash the soft cake.It is a two tier small cake, 6 and 8 inches round. Should i put a big fondant disc over it? should i support the characters with same board and dowel rods as i would do to add another tier? any help would be appreciated
Thanks in advance
